BASILDON WORKSHOP DAY FOR SURGICAL INNOVATIONS

CTC THEATRE WORKSHOP

On the 9th July a very succesful event was hosted by Covidien (http://www.covidien.com/) in the Cardiothoracic Theatre Suite, Level C CTC Theatres.

Workstations included

• Surgical sealants and anti adhesive products for general, gynaecology and cardiothoracic surgery
• Instrumentation and applications for VATS
• Surgical staplers for thoracic and general surgery
• Energy based devices in surgery
• Innovations in suture and mesh technology

Everyone had great fun "burning and cutting flesh" and sewing and grabbing objects

Refreshments included a 2nd year of the CTC opening celebration cake as well as very tasty pizzas
Basildon Healthcare Library also had a stand (http://www.btuheks.nhs.uk/)
