Information Specialist, NHS Evidence - cardiovascular, stroke, vascular.
£28,800 - £35,400 - fixed term contract to April 2011.
These three specialist collections, an integral part of NHS Evidence, hold evidence based resources on cardiovascular, stroke and vascular diseases. NHS Evidence aims to provide easy access to a comprehensive evidence base for everyone in health and social care who takes decisions about treatments or the use of resources.
We are looking for an Information Specialist to join our team, based at the University of Surrey in Guildford. Some travel to Guildford is required, although we are happy to consider flexible working.
Supporting the delivery of this important national project, you will keep resources up to date, develop annual evidence updates and help to identify uncertainties. You will have the opportunity to work closely with leading clinicians and other stakeholders, and to contribute as a member of a network of information specialists working across the NHS Evidence community.
With a degree or related qualification in Information and Library Studies you will have an understanding of evidence based practice, excellent communication skills and experience in web-based working. Knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, stroke and related topics is not essential as this will be gained on the job.
